Work continues on the roof. The chaps were in on Sunday which is a good job as rain stopped play for a few hours on Monday morning.

Amazing progress on the roof considering it was only started on Thursday. Great stuff guys! We have been so lucky with the weather, especially for this part of the project.

Thursday February 12th
Amazing progress, the roof has been stripped down, insulated and is now being put back together! Great work lads!

Wednesday February 11th
All of the scaffold is now up and work will soon start on the roof. The slab for the annex is 99.9% done with just the last few infill blocks to go in. The time lapse camera was set up at about 8:10am this morning and turned off at 2.30pm.

The rest of the slab has been laid and will be coated in screed when the roof is done. Work has now begun on the scaffolding so that work can begin on the roof.

The annexe floor is now all laid, drains are in and the annexe slab is ready for walls! But they can wait, the next job is the roof.

February 2nd to 4th
A very long RSJ has now been laced in the old foyer area (more on this next time) and work has begun to lay the concrete floor for the new annexe.

During Renovation
Wednesday 28th & Thursday 29th January
Amazing progress in around a week and a half. The concrete in the footings has set and the bricklayers have moved in to start laying blocks. Work too has started on the supporting wall for the new kitchen.

Bright (or rather dull) and early this morning two lorries arrived with several cubic metres of concrete for the annexe footings.

Footings have been dug for the new annexe area which will include a new toilet complex and additional flexible space.
The very soft sand underneath the old extension was clearly responsible for the footing slipping causing the cracks in the walls.

Lorries arrived to remove the debris from the demolition. Footings dug for the new family toilet block.

Tarmac cleared to make way for the footings to be dug for the new annexe. More work on stripping back the old foyer area.

The rest of the 1975s extension was taken down and the foyer area stripped ready for remodelling.

Work has begun in earnest on preparing the inside of the kitchen and foyer area for the demolition stage.
